Directors’ Week Celebration

Good Corporate Governance and Leadership are the critical fundamentals in every human endeavour including political, public and private sector pursuits for success and excellence. In recent times, this has become a very critical issue of concern which is impacting negatively on the attainment of organizational and personal leadership goals. It is appearing as if leadership is failing at all fronts in Africa; Public, Private, Industry, Regulation, Political, Chieftaincy, Academia, Religion and Individual fronts. 

ACGN wishes to stimulate the culture of good corporate governance and leadership in the Public and Private Sector space on the African continent and wishes to launch a Directors Week Celebration which will become a prestigious annual event on the calendar of Africa. 

Objectives of the Directors’ Week Celebration in Africa 

  1. Stimulate the culture of good cooperate governance and leadership
  2.  Discuss and develop strategic interventions for corporate governance failures 
  3.  Enhance capacity of directors
  4. Network with Global and Continental stakeholders in the governance and leadership landscape.
  5. Promote a formal Public and Private sector dialogue forum in the corporate governance landscape.
  6. Capacity building for participants
  7. Get Political Leadership on the Continent to interact with Participants
  8. Recognize and Celebrate Promoters/ Achievers of good corporate governance outcomes

Expected Outputs 

  1. To influence and enhance good corporate governance on the continent
  2. To educate stakeholders and directors 
  3. Networking between participant 
  4. Recognition of outstanding actors in the corporate governance landscape  
  5. Issue a Communique

Target Participants

Participants are expected from the following groupings on the Continent;

  • Political Heads, Politicians, Ministers of State, Chief Executives, Board Chairmen and Board Members, Municipal and District Chief Executives, Presiding Members. 
  • Global Players from the International Community 
  • Regulators of Public and Private Sector Space.
  • Public Servants – Chief Directors, Directors and Assistant Directors.
  • Private Sector Leaders – Industry Leaders, Leadership of Corporate Organizations and Board Members.
  • NGO Executive Leadership etc.
  • Ambassadors and Staff in Executive Leadership positions.
  • Academia – Vice Chancellors, Pro – Vice Chancellors, Deans of Schools/ Colleges, IOD Members, Local and International Members
